Environmental Impact

Brookfield Renewable Power has retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. (“Stantec”) to assist with the environmental and planning aspects of the Gosfield-Comber Wind Energy Project.  Stantec has prepared an Environmental Screening Report (“ESR”) as required under Ontario Regulation 116/01 of the Environmental Assessment Act. The ESR was completed as required for a Category B project under the Ministry of the Environment's Environmental Screening Process for electricity projects, as outlined in their Guide to Environmental Assessment Requirements for Electricity Projects (March, 2001) (pdf).

The Environmental Screening Process provides for the protection, conservation and wise management of the environment by ensuring that the environmental effects of the project are reviewed. As part of this process, Brookfield Renewable Power has issued an updated Notice of Commencement (pdf) for the Project.
