Gosfield and Comber Wind Projects

Brookfield Renewable Power, a leading producer and developer of renewable energy has been developing two wind projects in Essex County, Ontario since 2002. These two projects will generate clean, renewable energy and provide local economic benefits while helping the province reach its green energy targets.

The Gosfield Wind Farm is a 51 MW wind project located in the Town of Kingsville. In January 2009, the project was awarded a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Ontario Power Authority. The Gosfield Wind Farm was commissioned in October 2010 to deliver enough electricity to power approximately 16,000 homes annually.

The 166 MW Comber Wind Project is located in the Town of Lakeshore. In April 2010, it was awarded a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Ontario Power Authority. Construction of this project began in September 2010, and once completed, it will be capable of delivering enough electricity to power about 55,000 homes annually.

Both Gosfield and Comber are owned by Brookfield Renewable Power Fund, which is 34% owned by Brookfield Renewable Power.
