Gosfield and Comber Wind Projects

Brookfield Renewable Power, a leading producer and developer of renewable energy is proposing two wind projects in Essex County, Ontario. These two projects will generate clean, renewable energy while providing local economic benefits.

The Gosfield Wind Project is a 50 MW wind project located in the Town of Kingsville, Essex County. On January 23, 2009, the Gosfield Wind Project was awarded a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Ontario Power Authority. In July, the project was acquired by Brookfield Renewable Power Fund which is 50% owned by Brookfield Renewable Power. Once completed, the Gosfield Wind Farm will be capable of delivering enough electricity to power approximately 16,000 homes.

The Comber Wind Project is a 166 MW wind project located in the Town of Lakeshore in Essex County. In April 2010, the Comber Wind Project was awarded a long-term power purchase agreement by the Ontario Power Authority. This project, once completed, will be capable of delivering enough electricity to power approximately 55,000 homes.
